Enthusiastic vote for the Village Green

 In Letters, Opinion

Editor:
Over the past few months, I have read a number of negative letters to the editor in the Creemore Echo concerning the proposed transformation of the old TD Bank building into a new Village Green. So I thought I’d put in an enthusiastic vote for the new project. Having reviewed the proposal, I believe that the committee has done a fantastic job of creating something that will truly enhance and solidify Creemore’s position as one of Canada’s most charming, picturesque and beautiful villages. The new design very thoughtfully incorporates elements for every visitor, young and old, individuals and families, residents and tourists. I especially love the addition of a stage, where I can picture afternoon concerts and children spontaneously performing to passers by… and all of the spots for meandering and sitting, while enjoying a coffee and treat from a local business or the farmer’s market.
I find it astonishing that anyone would be against such a beautiful transformation of what is frankly an unattractive building – and at no cost to the taxpayers. I cannot wait to enjoy this spectacular setting in my favourite village.
Kathryn From,
Creemore.
