Road closure could lead to conservation

 In Letters, Opinion

Editor:
There is a major push on at this time to save County Road 91. In 20-30 years the present Duntroon quarry will be spent.
If 91 is not closed the Escarpment will be left with two lakes with a road down the centre. Closing 91 will result in a single relatively large lake surrounded by a considerable amount of conservation land.
In other words, closing 91 preserves a significant portion of the Niagara Escarpment for the enjoyment of the public.
This viewpoint needs to be taken into consideration.
Bill Franks,
Duntroon.
