11U Cardinals power past Baycats
The Cardinal bats came alive on Sunday in a double-header against the Barrie Baycats. The young squad won both games by scores of 15-4 and 16-3 and improved their record to 4-0. In Game 1, Brayden Foulds brought the fans to their feet in the second inning with a monster three-run home run over the 232’ sign in centerfield. Evan Wells and Jack Hutchison combined to strike out nine batters in the first three innings.
In Game 2, Dylan Rayburn would lead the Creemore offence going 3 for 3 including a grand slam and six RBI. Thomas Weldon was dominant on the mound striking out six consecutive batters over two innings of work.
Come out to Gowan Park this Sunday at 10 a.m. for the 11U’s home opener against the Newmarket Hawks. The first pitch will be thrown out by Dana Murphy, winner of Creemore Minor Baseball logo design contest.
