Clearview Township election update
Current Ward One Councillor, Phyllis Dineen (pictured) is the latest to file nomination papers for the upcoming municipal election in Clearview Township.
She joins incumbent councillors Robert Walker, John Broderick, Thom Paterson and Mayor Doug Measures. There will be some new names on the ballot this October. Deborah Ann Bronee will seek the Deputy Mayor’s job. Dave Witzke and Marty Beelen will compete for seats on council.
The next council will consist of five members, down from the current seven following a decision to redraw ward boundaries.
Candidates have until August 19 to file nomination papers with the township clerk.
The Township of Clearview, in cooperation with the towns of Collingwood and Wasaga Beach will hold an information session for prospective candidates on Tuesday, July 12th at the council chambers in Wasaga Beach. Participants can pre- register at election@clearview.ca
