Admit to poorly thought out process

 In Letters, Opinion

Editor:

Clearly the exploitation of the Greenbelt and building of an unnecessary highway has gone on far enough and it is time to move on.

I suggest a three-point action plan be invoked immediately:

1. Cancel the proposal to build on the green belt and put all lands back into a protected status similar to the legislation used with the Niagara Escarpment.

2. Create a working group of municipal planners and engineers from the GTA and assess the lands within the existing urban boundaries for building sites and rezone and look at smart building through innovation and possible intensification.

3. Abandon any plans for Highway 413 and capitalize on an underused and excellent Highway 407 already in place for the east west corridor. Think!

No one needs to resign. Just admit to a poorly thought out process, fraught with problems.

Richard Bino,

Singhampton.
