Holiday cheer, music at the library, including Sundays
Captain Jack Frost, Pauley the Parrot and their crew invite you to join them as they celebrate the 2023 Holiday Season with lots of good cheer and music at all three branches of the Clearview Public Library from now until Sunday, Jan. 7.
Did we say Sunday? Yes, starting Jan. 7 the Stayner Branch will be open from noon to 4 p.m. We plan to have lots of special activities and interactive programming at this time every week as we evolve with our new hours throughout this library system.
During the school break, there will be plenty to do in our library branches. Informal craft activities include making tree ornaments, solving our Bingo Scavenger Hunts and creating colourful pictures. Take- away kits will include Cursive Writing Exercises, Brain Teasers and our Pirate Adventure. Check out what is for sale in our Book Sales or grab a jigsaw puzzle from our free Puzzle Swap. Our collection displays will feature all things that appeal to a pirate’s fancy such as tasty food, toe- tapping music and enchanting stories.
Formal activities for your pirate crew (free and family-friendly) will take place in New Lowell (10 a.m. to noon) and Creemore (1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.) on Wednesday, Jan. 3 and in Stayner (10 a.m. to noon) on Thursday, Jan. 4. Plan to drop into our Winter Break Pirate Adventures to complete the circuit of crafts, games and literacy activities all themed on scallywags, parrots and found treasures! (Please – Children under seven years must be accompanied by an adult.) And what does a Pirate really want for Christmas? Come into your favourite branch of the Clearview Public Library to find out.
Please note our new hours: Creemore Hours: Saturday – 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and new hours are Tuesday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
New Lowell Hours: Saturday – 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and new hours are Tuesday and Friday from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., and Wednesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Stayner Hours: Saturday – 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and new hours are Tuesday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.
