MCARTHUR, James “Milton” – Born in Nottawasaga Township on October 6, 1933, to Russell and Florence McArthur. Milton died peacefully surrounded by family at Collingwood Hospital on June 22, 2024. He leaves to mourn his wife of 67 years Marion Doris Drysdale. Proud father of Brenda (Bruce) Roberts of Calgary, Cheryl (Carl) Russwurm of Mildmay, Robert (Sonja) and David (Ruth) of Creemore. He will be missed by his grandchildren Brittany Roberts (Nigel Gill), Brennan Roberts, Derek (Katrina) Russwurm, Theresa (Andrew) Grubb, Rusty McArthur (Jaquie Thomson), Naomi McArthur (Chris Kraemer) and Cole McArthur. Five great grandchildren will miss his cuddles. Predeceased by his parents Russell and Florence McArthur, his sisters and their husbands, Isobel (Mel) Rhodes and Gladys (Howard) Milne, and one niece. Milton spent 77 years on the family farm with a love for family, Simmentals, Belgians and a devotion to municipal politics. He served on the Nottawasaga School Board in 1963 and spent many years on Nottawasaga and Clearview Council. He was also an avid Lions Club member, and volunteered with the Collingwood Fair Board, Creemore Curling Club, Simmental and Belgian Associations. Friends and family will be received at the Fawcett Funeral Home, Creemore on Wednesday, June 26 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 27 at 1 p.m. at the St. John’s United Church, 192 Mill Street, Creemore. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Collingwood Agricultural Society or the Canadian Belgian Horse Association in Milton’s memory.
