2025 budget passed

Taxes on an average home in Clearview, assessed at $315,000, will increase by $135.86 in the coming year under the budget formally adopted by council this week.

The Clearview portion of the budget increased 4.51 per cent over last year, but once County of Simcoe and school board rates are factored in, the net increase is 3.48 per cent.

The budget process began last fall when township departments submitted their spending estimates. Proposed budgets were presented to council in late November, for discussion, then the public was invited to comment at a meeting on Jan. 27.

Grant Deadline approaching

Community groups are reminded that the first intake period for Community Assistance and Sponsorship grants is open until the end of February. Any organization that is volunteer driven, not-for- profit and providing services to residents of Clearview Township can apply.
