Canadians are proud people, take the high road

I’ve never written into a paper before but feel compelled to comment on your recent cover page and was hoping our MP was misquoted. Re: Simce-Grey remains true blue, The Creemore Echo, May 2, page 1.

Canadians are proud people. We take the high road when dealing with topics that we may disagree on or when insulted.

It was good to hear Pierre congratulating his opponent on the recent win. Carney is his opponent, not his enemy.

However, it was disturbing to see Terry Dowdall’s comment, “… hope to have an opportunity to expose them” in your recent cover story.

Expose? Like some secret conspiracy dwelling in a dark basement somewhere? Comments like that are expected from certain politicians in other countries, not here. We are better than that. Let’s all be proud to be Canadian and work together to make the country even better for all of us.
