Growers wanted

Many of you are asking where is the produce? Creemore Farmers’ Market long time farmer, Cameron, has retired and moved on to other work in a different area. We miss his big smile and his even bigger piles of produce that we have enjoyed at the market over the past five years. Since last fall, we have been searching for farmers/producers to fill the space that True Food Farm is leaving.

Mount Wolfe Farm is taking up some of the slack by joining us every other Saturday with their organic produce, however we have a big demand for produce, both vegetables and fruit and we are still seeking local growers and producers to join our Saturday market.

There is no requirement to commit to every Saturday, we welcome vendors on their own schedule. Our market has grown in the past two years and we have upwards of 40 vendors a week and hundreds of visitors.

Something new last year was our homesteaders who grow smaller amounts of produce, or limited produce on a seasonal basis, and attend once or twice at the market. So if you grew too many beans this summer, bag them up, price them and bring them to market!

We also have space for the junior farmers out there. Encourage your kids to grow vegetables, fruit or flowers and join us at the market as a vendor. Special rate for young entrepreneurs.

Potential vendors are asked to get in touch at creemoremarket@gmail.com.

Peta Christen,

Market manager.
