Police investigate robbery in Collingwood
Police are investigating a street- level robbery that occurred in downtown Collingwood overnight on Friday, July 11.
At approximately 1 a.m., officers responded to an incident on Ste. Marie Street, near the parking lot adjacent to the Eddie Bush Memorial Arena. Upon arrival, police located two individuals in distress, both of whom had been sprayed with bear spray. One of the victims also sustained a visible head injury. Both individuals were transported to hospital, where they were treated for minor injuries and released.
Preliminary information suggests the victims were approached by a group of approximately seven individuals.
The group fled through the parking lot toward Hurontario Street prior to police arrival.
