Season 18 of the Be The Change film series, in support of the Blue Mountain Watershed Trust launches with Incandescence, courtesy of the National Film Board of Canada.

Incandescence by Nova Ami and Velcrow Ripper is an immersive exploration of wildfires. Weaving on- the-ground footage with extraordinary stories of survival and adaptation that transform our understanding of wildfire. The film takes shape from the ancient patterns embodied in fire: destruction, aftermath and rebirth. From the flight path of bees to an osprey’s aerial perspective, floating over the landscape: the Earth comes back.

Organizers promise a season of powerful films that inspire, educate, and spark meaningful conversations about our environment, community, and the change we can create together. Incandescence is being screened at Simcoe Street Theatre, Collingwood, at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 15. Tickets cost $15 for adults, and $8 for students. To purchase tickets, go to bethechangefilmseries.com. All proceeds go to The Blue Mountain Watershed Trust Foundation.
