The Dry Run Club hosts the Mocktail Mile

The Dry Run Club is introducing its first-ever event, the Mocktail Mile, bringing a refreshing twist to the local running scene.

The Mocktail Mile is a 5K social run that swaps pints for alcohol-free mocktails. Set for Saturday, Oct. 18, the event blends fitness and fun, offering participants a lively “happy hour on the move” – minus the headache.

“The Mocktail Mile is our first official event, and I’m thrilled to give runners and walkers the chance to enjoy a social route where the aid stations serve mocktails – a fresh twist on the classic beer mile,” said founder Kelly O’Neil. “It’s about getting outside, connecting with community, and proving you can have just as much fun—and wake up without the hangover.”

Gather at Endswell Beer at 5 p.m. for a warm up, and start out on a 5-km route with a mix of trail and road running, featuring three popular local venues: pose by the Low Down mural with one of their renowned mocktails; cheers at Bar Gondola with virgin margaritas; finish at Endswell Beer for celebratory mocktails.

Pre-registration required at DryRunClub.ca. Registration costs $50 per person and includes one signature mocktail at each stop and entry into a draw to win a Dry Run Club membership.

“As a trail runner, I’m also an advocate for what I call alcohol empowerment—feeling in control of your relationship with alcohol. For some that means moderate drinking, for others it means choosing not to drink at all. Either way, you can still enjoy fun, social experiences without alcohol. My hope is that people leave feeling energized, included, and excited to be part of something different,” said O’Neil.

The Dry Run Club is a Collingwood-based running community for sober, sober-ish, and sober- curious runners. The club offers accountability runs, alcohol-free lifestyle resources, and inspiration for both mental and physical wellness. Focused on goal-setting, connection, and achievement, the Dry Run Club promotes “natural highs” and reclaims social spaces through fitness and fun. In addition to runs, the club hosts alcohol-free social gatherings that build community and celebrate active living.
