To honour the life of former clerk and treasurer Pearson Spellman, flags have been lowered to half-staff at Clearview Township facilities.

“The community of Clearview Township extend our deep condolences to the family of Pearson Spellman. Pearson had many roles in our community, including friend, board member, mentor, and most importantly, as a father and husband,” said Mayor Doug Measures.

Spellman was the clerk administrator for the Town of Stayner, and the first treasurer for Clearview Township, after amalgamation.

“His leadership through the establishment of sound financial accounting policies has remained a strong part of our practice of balanced budgets and efficient delivery of services today,” said Measures. “Pearson also had a great sense of humour and was always present to cheer on a local sports team. I salute his dedication to the service of our community. He will be missed.”

Flags will remain at half-staff until after Spellman’s Celebration of Life on Nov. 2. Details here.
