Program support community during holidays
Toys For Tots supports Dufferin
Dufferin OPP, in partnership with the Salvation Army New Hope Community Church, kicks off Toys For Tots this weekend outside of the Orangeville Walmart. Officers will be collecting new, unwrapped toys, non-perishable food items, and gift cards in order to help those in need this holiday season. All donations collected will be distributed locally through the Salvation Army.
The campaign runs from Nov. 29 to Dec. 14. Officers will be collecting donations outside of Walmart at 95 First Street in Orangeville on Fridays from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.; and Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Last year’s campaign assisted nearly 400 families, providing both food and toys for the holidays.
Toys for Tickets
Clearview Township is once again supporting the Simcoe County Paramedics Food and Toy Drive through the ‘Toys for Tickets’ initiative.
‘Toys for Tickets’ allows anyone who receives a parking ticket between Oct. 15 and Dec. 15 the option to pay the early fee as indicated on the ticket, or to submit a gift card or toy of equal or greater value as payment for the ticket. Residents can donate to pay for a parking ticket at the Administration Centre.
Simcoe County Paramedics are accepting financial donations, new unwrapped toys, non-perishable food items and gift cards (with the gift card value denoted). Parking tickets can be paid during regular business hours at the Administration Centre, Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Donation boxes are located at the Township Administration Centre (217 Gideon Street, Stayner) and Fire Administration Centre (6993 Highway 26, Stayner).
