Everest Challenge: climb with United Way Simcoe Muskoka
Lace up, rally your team, and get ready to climb for a cause. On Sunday, May 31, the Everest Challenge returns with an adrenaline pumping day of endurance, teamwork, and community spirit, all in support of United Way Simcoe Muskoka.
Set against the stunning backdrop of Horseshoe Valley, teams of two to 10- plus participants will take on an epic mission: climb the height of Mount Everest, 29,092 feet, by repeatedly ascending the mountain at Horseshoe Resort.
Here’s how the challenge works: A team of four will complete 24 ascents; A team of six will tackle 16 ascents; A team of 12 will do eight ascents.
Each route to the summit offers sweeping views and a rewarding test of stamina. And every climb counts. At Basecamp progress is tracked in real time, celebrating every summit as teams inch closer to their Everest goal.
At Basecamp, climbers will refuel with complimentary snacks and hydration stations as well as recharge with music and high-energy festivities, creating an atmosphere that’s equal parts mountain mission and community celebration.
“We are thrilled to be the charitable beneficiary of the Everest Challenge again this year,” said Brian Shelley, chief executive and philanthropy officer at United Way Simcoe Muskoka. “This event combines adventure with impact. Every step taken helps us support individuals and families across our region. Together, we can reach new heights, for our community.”
Funds raised will fuel critical local programs across Simcoe Muskoka. Every ascent represents hope, resilience, and collective impact.
