Something’s abuzz at the library

It may be the end of the summer holidays but things are still buzzing at the Clearview Public Library.

Close to home at the Creemore branch, our buzz boxes are now available to check out to learn about bees and how they pollinate our wildflowers.

This educational package is a product sponsored by the Clearview Wildflower Project, the Creemore Horticultural Society and the Clearview Public Library. The box includes instructions, pollinator activities, two packages of wildflower seeds to bloom in 2027 and a library book.

Thursday, Aug. 27 is a special day as Reptilia will be hosting three cozy presentations at the Stayner (10:30 am), Creemore (1 p.m.) and New Lowell (3 p.m.) branches. Complimentary tickets (required) are available at the circulation desks. These intimate shows will allow the participants to get close and personal with the reptiles “on stage.”

This day is also the last day to submit your TDSRC ballots and Reptilia colouring contest entries for inclusion in the random draw for our amazing literary prize buckets. These prizes will be pulled on Friday, Aug. 29 and the winners will be notified by the end of our library working day.

Then the countdown is on for the start of school and the opening day for the 169th annual Great Northern Exhibition.
