Clearview Township recruiting new CAO

 In News

The search is on for a new Chief Administrative Officer for Clearview Township, following Steve Sage’s announcement that he will retire from the post at the end of this year.
Sage joined the Township of Sunnidale as Roads Superintendent in 1990 then moved to Clearview with amalgamation in 1994. After several promotions, he became Clearview CAO in 2014. Mayor Doug Measures praised Sage’s contribution to the growth of the community over his 30 years of service.
An executive search firm will be hired to assist the selection committee in their search for a new CAO, with the final two or three candidates being interviewed by the full council.
Council will also be recruiting members for a new Economic Development Advisory Committee. Its mandate will be to oversee the creation and implementation of a comprehensive development plan for the township, identify pillars of economic development and advise council on business attraction and retention. Sub-committees will deal with specific initiatives and strategies such as projects to stimulate economic growth and post COVID-19 renewal. The committee will consist of the mayor, one member of council, and community representatives. Sage urged council not to “get too hung up” on the frame of reference at this stage. Instead, he encouraged they should wait and see what comes out of the community recruitment process and allow new members to use their expertise to maximum advantage.
Advertising for the volunteer positions will begin in mid-November, with council to approve membership by late January or early February.
