Pedestrian struck on Highway 26
On Nov. 30, just after 2 p.m., members of the Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), along with members of the Simcoe County Paramedic Service and the Clearview Fire Department attended a collision on Highway 26 near County Road 42 (Airport Road)in Stayner.
Members of the OPP’s Technical Collision Investigation Team also attended to assist in the investigation.
A vehicle travelling eastbound on Highway 26 collided with a pedestrian. The pedestrian, a 55-year-old from Clearview, was airlifted to a Toronto area trauma centre and remains in critical but stable condition.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation. Anyone who may have witnessed or has information regarding this collision is asked to contact the Huronia West OPP Detachment at 705-429-3575.
