Nominations for Clearview Township’s Culture and Sports Hall of Fame Awards are now open.

“This is a great opportunity to highlight the hard work and dedication of our residents and community members for their excellence and achievements within culture and sports,” explained Mayor Doug Measures. “It will be great to celebrate the positive impact that their involvement and influence has had on the Clearview Township community.”

The awards were created to honour individuals and groups who have made a positive impact on the sports and cultural community throughout the Township.

The Hall of Fame Awards are divided into eight categories: Athlete, Builder, Team, Artist, Festival/Event, Community Volunteer, Young Leader (Culture) and Young Leader (Sport).

CAO John Ferguson is pleased to see the tradition continue after being shut down the past two years due to the pandemic, “The 2022 Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place on Tuesday, June 14 at the Stayner Community Centre and will include the first time showing off the new location in the renovated Community Centre, a bright, modern and welcoming place to hang plaques and allow our residents and visitors to learn about the sports and culture organizations, individuals and leaders that have been recognized in our community.”

Nominations will be accepted until March 31. Nomination forms are available online at www.discoverclearview.ca/ hall-of-fame. Forms are also available at both the Creemore and Stayner Arenas, the Clearview Youth Centre, Clearview Public Library Branches, and the Clearview Administration Centre.
