The recent Village Green BBQ fundraiser was a sizzling success! The weather was hot, the drinks were cold and the fun was fantastic!

People were happy to socialize and support the community based Village Green.

Looking to cultivate a local connection to the cause, organizer Marie Stephenson obtained beef and pork donations from farmers for the BBQ. Many local businesses and community members generously donated prizes for the silent auction and raffle.

Big thanks and appreciation go out to all who supported the event.

Hard work and many helping hands went into producing this successful event. Colin Bryant, the son of departed Lana Bryant, was happy to pitch in to help. He organized a fun golf challenge that had everyone teeing off to try for a hole-in-one or hit closest to the pin.

Lana would have been proud to see such an outpouring of generosity and effort from the people she worked alongside in her many volunteer roles.

The event raised about $20,000. The funds will be used for the Village Green gardens to honour Lana as well as the many past and present volunteers. Every donation makes a big difference and it will all be put back into the community.

We all look forward to attending and enjoying many upcoming events at our very own Village Green. Meet you at the fountain!
