Log cabin proclaimed open by queen
Queen Victoria honoured us by accepting our invitation to cut the ribbon to signify that the Creemore Log Cabin is now open for the 2025 Summer Tourism Season in Clearview Township.
Emma Coleman “played” Queen Victoria on behalf of the Clearview Public Library in partnership with her Honour Guard and husband Kyle Linney, representing the Clearview Fire Department Station 4.
Paul Vorstermans held the ribbon for the seasonal opening ceremony with Marjorie Lang (hidden) on behalf of the Creemore Log Cabin Board. Councillor Robert McArthur drove the Queen’s fancy coach for this “royal engagement” and then offered tours around town for visitors.
Lee Anning kindly provided all sorts of Victoriana treasures from his collections and even made a Victoria Sponge cake to share as we all celebrated this holiday weekend that heralds the start of the summer tourist season in Clearview!
History Hosts will be present between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. to welcome visitors on Saturday mornings now until Thanksgiving weekend.
Michele McKenzie is deputy CEO of Clearview Public Library.
