MORBY, Mary Isobel (née Brown) – Died peacefully, surrounded by her family on Monday, August 11, 2025 at her home at the age of 93. Isobel of Stayner, beloved wife of the late Eric Morby (2002). Loving mother of David, Heather (Howard Walker), the late John, Tim (Rhonda), Mary Ann (Tim McCoy) and Alison (Tom Spowart). Cherished grandmother of Jennifer (Kevin), Shannon (Mark), Andrew (Markie), Lizette, Heidi (Matthew), Jon, Sarah (Zach), Alex, Melanie, Rebecca (Josh) and Eric, and great grandmother of 19 great grandchildren. Dear sister of Margaret Brown. Isobel was a kind and nurturing woman with a wonderful sense of humour. She loved and cared deeply for her family and for so many others. She took in over 50 foster children, many as newborn infants. She was a woman of strong faith and was an integral member of her church. She will be deeply missed. Friends were received at the Carruthers & Davidson Funeral Home – Stayner Chapel, 7313 Highway 26, Stayner on Wednesday, August 13. The Funeral Service was held at Compass Life Church, 202 Ontario Street, Stayner Thursday at 2 o’clock. Interment Stayner Union Cemetery. Reception followed in the church hall.
