100 Men Who Care donate to My Friend’s House
At its November meeting, 100 Men Who Care Southern Georgian Bay chose to support My Friend’s House by donating $11,914.
My Friend’s House is a non-profit agency offering support for abused women and children living in the Georgian Triangle. Since opening in 1991, My Friend’s House has helped thousands of women get the safety and support they need to rebuild their lives. My Friend’s House supports some 600 women and their children each year through a Shelter Program as well as Outreach, Transition and Children’s Programs.
“We are pleased to support My Friend’s House and the great work it is doing to support abused women and their children within our community,” said David Trafford, 100 Men Who Care Southern Georgian Bay leadership team member.
Funding support from 100 Men Who Care Southern Georgian Bay will go directly to individual and group programming for children, youth and their mothers both residing in the shelter and living in community. My Friend’s House children’s programming aims to create opportunities for the family to build resilience and heal from the trauma they have suffered.
“We are greatly appreciative of the support through 100 Men Who Care Southern Georgian Bay. Their generosity will help us with our children and family programming and we will have provided direct assistance to 75 children by year end, with their help,” said My Friend’s House executive director Samantha Jones.
