On the horns of a dilemma’s where we find ourselves just now.
Our geographic bed mate’s apt to snore,
Yet complaining wins us nothing as this brute is so low brow.
He'd sooner have us sleeping on the floor.
We are dealing with a man of very little intellect
Non cognizant of “Semper Veritas.”
He wants to see us come to him, bow down, and genuflect.
Don't pin your hopes on one “Hail Mary Pass.”
We have got to play a ground game gaining gridiron yard by yard
Retaliate with tariffs of our own,
Call his bluff and let him suffer hoisted by his own petard
Reap the harvest of the seeds his hand has sown.
Let us look beyond horizons seeking partners more diverse
Yet beware of putting cart before the horse
For litigious burning bridges could make matters so much worse
Not unlike a very badly done divorce.
Our economies are intertwined in manners so complex
Our two countries are akin to twins of Siam.
We can't be rent apart without new balances and checks.
We must find ways we both can say “I chaim.”
