Cardboard Castles celebrates 10 years in business

 In Business

Time seems to have flown by for Laurie Copeland, owner of Cardboard Castles Children’s Emporium in Creemore. The store is celebrating its 10th Anniversary this weekend. Originally opened on Nov. 4, 2006, they are marking the grand event with a free community party this Saturday, Nov. 5 at Station on the Green.

The event kicks off with a puppet show by acclaimed puppeteer and ventriloquist, Tim Holland, aka The Puppet Tamer. Tim has been entertaining professionally for two decades, across Canada, Europe, Asia and Australia. Apart from Tim’s puppetry and ventriloquism, his accomplishments also include juggling and unicycling, plus he has a rubber chicken that dances the can-can! He has shared the stage with the likes of Sharon & Bram, Fred Penner and Martin Short. He even appeared once on the Creemore Children’s Festival stage in 2015. Copeland, impressed with the audience response, and wanting to express her appreciation to her customers and supporters, has invited the Puppet Tamer back for a performance that is bound to entertain young and old alike. Check out Tim and watch his uncooperative and over-zealous puppets steal the show.

Following the show, Cardboard Castles is hosting a puppet making workshop for children. Plus, as any good birthday party should, Copeland promises, there will be cake!

Doors open at 2 p.m. with show time beginning at 2:30 p.m.
