Saturday, March 9 and Sunday, March 10, Stayner Branch: Space Junk Book Sale and Dead Battery Dump. Load up on reading materials for only $2/box (please BYOB).
Sunday, March 10, Stayner Branch: Pop into the art gallery to see a vintage science fiction art show and take a selfie with a UFO and some very special guests from “a Galaxy Far Far Away” from 12 p.m. – 3 p.m.
Tuesday, March 12, New Lowell and Creemore Branches: Janice Harvey (children programs) has crafted a super special activity circuit of STEM activities, games and crafts that explores aspects of space and extraterrestrial intelligence. This family-friendly and free program will take place in the New Lowell Branch from 10 a.m. -11:30 a.m. and in Creemore from 1:30 p.m. – 3 p.m. (Children 7 years and under must be accompanied by an adult).
Friday, March 15, Stayner Branch: STEM activity circuit from 10 a.m. to noon. (Children 7 years and under must be accompanied by an adult).
Friday, March 15, Stayner Branch: Elaine Hamerton (teen programs) is taking registrations for the St. John’s Ambulance Home Alone Course from 9 a.m. to noon at the Stayner Branch/Arena Hall. Course Fee is $55. To confirm your child’s attendance, payment is due at the Stayner Branch by Saturday, March 9 at noon. This program is designed for children 9 years of age and older to help them prepare to stay safe in times where they may find themselves alone for short periods of time.
Saturday, March 16, Stayner Branch: free workshop crafting Easter Bunny Signs from 10 a.m. to noon for Grade 5+ students. Supplies are limited so registration is required. Register online at www.clearview.library.on.ca or at your local branch.
Sunday, March 17, Stayner Branch: “return to earth” by crafting with pots of gold, rainbows and shamrocks in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day. At this time, we will also take a moment to contemplate how society has changed as this date is the 4th year anniversary of the start of the Covid-19 Pandemic – the virus that shut down the world.
Scavenger Hunt Bingo featuring space objects and aliens will run at our three branches throughout the week. All of the circulation staff have chosen their personal Sci Fi books and movies from our collection and these items will be on display throughout the March Break for your entertainment and enjoyment. It will be easy to escape this world by simply reading or watching a good story!
