Stitching up face masks for community

 In Community

Elise Beauregard thought of The Echo crew when she was sewing one of her more recent face masks, using newsprint fabric.

Many local people have been putting their sewing machines to work during the pandemic, experimenting with mask designs and sewing other supplies for healthcare workers.

Beauregard made free masks for local seniors, Collingwood General and Marine Hospital, and Creemore Village Pharmacy, using up her fabric stash. Having had to order more supplies, she is now making masks (with the elastic going behind the head, not the ears) by special order for $15 each with a turnaround of three or four days. They include replaceable filter, and a nosepiece.

For more information, find La Vie d’Elise on Facebook, or call 647-995-1225. People have also been sharing information on the Creemore Caremongering Facebook page about pandemic related sewing projects, for those interested.
