Clearview eyes airport

After a May 7 in-camera meeting Clearview council passed a resolution to submit a Request for Proposal (RFP) to purchase the Collingwood Regional Airport.

The terms of the offer have not been disclosed, including the price.

The motion reads: Whereas, the Collingwood Regional Airport is located within the municipal boundaries of Clearview Township and Clearview Township views the Collingwood Regional Airport as an economic driver, not only for Clearview Township, but the whole southern Georgian Bay area and Simcoe County… Further, that the confidential items and conditions remain confidential until such time that information contained within the Clearview RFP submission be made public by the Town of Collingwood or their agents. 

Collingwood council decided late last year to put the airport up for sale and has requested interested parties to participate in a RFP process.
