Creemore celebrates Father’s Day with Fire, Beards and Axes

 In Events, Visit Creemore

On Father’s Day, Creemore will celebrate the good guys with Fire, Beards and Axes.

“Men are taking a real bashing lately. Some of them deserve it but we need to celebrate good men and good fathers,” said organizer and BIA president Jackie Durnford.

Lumberjacks, beards, beer, cooking with fire, axe throwing, diaper changing – it’s all part of the fun.

The BIA event runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dads, and their loved ones, are invited to come out and enjoy a free lumberjack show on Mill Street on Sunday, June 17 at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Other activities include a dad triathlon, beard and braiding seminars and competitions, plus beer and bucks (the financial kind) workshops. Chefs and circus lumberjacks will be on site to show their chops. Dad can even try axe-throwing or enjoy a gourmet wood-fired picnic lunch with the whole family.

To sign up for free activities, or buy passes to select events visit www.experiencecreemore.com/fba.

In the morning the Legion is hosting a Father’s Day breakfast (see calendar on page 2 for details).
