Ladies

Team (Win-loss-tie)

Crawford 0-3

Millsap 2-1

Steed 2-1

Walker 2-1

From the Hack: Challenging ice on Monday with many shots hogged or right through the house. Gayle perfected her draw weight but Team Steed prevailed.

On Sheet 2, aggressive sweeping by Team Crawford for many ‘oh so close’ shots, but not enough to beat the skill of Team Walker.

Did you know?…In the 1965 musical comedy “HELP” starring the Fab Four, the Beatles were nearly killed when a curling stone was booby trapped with a bomb.

Men

Team (Win-loss-tie)

Neil Rowbotham 2-0-0

Bill Neelin 1-1-0

Bill Hewitt 1-1-0

Adam Verstegen 1-1-0

Dave Millsap 1-1-0

Gord Fuller 0-1-1

John Millsap 0-0-1

Ron Coulter 0-1-0

From The Hack: Although the first week of curling started with only 28 players to makeup seven teams the shortfall was short lived.   Dave Millsap introduced the club to three new curlers who where quickly placed on teams allowing the formation of an eighth team.  While two teams played Dave was able to get the new curlers on the ice for some instruction on the basics.  Thanks Dave.

New curlers of all ages are welcome to the club – no experience necessary.  Start anytime as a “spare” curler for any of our leagues.  Our next round of curling starts early in January and players will be needed to fill out all leagues. Ladies, men and mixed.  Give it a try, you’ll love it.

Mixed

Team (Win-loss-tie)

Bell 2-0

Neelin 1-1

Fuller 1-1

McArthur 1-1

Meulyndyk 1-1

Cass 1-0-1

Baylis 0-1-1

Crevier 0-2-0

From the Hack: The Friday evening mixed league has begun and the race in on for the Jim Steed Memorial Trophy.  After two games, Jim Bell’s team (Jazmin Verstegen, Lisa Soules and Amy Purkis) leads the pack. A warm welcome to new to our club curlers Mike and Cheryl Kangas.  Welcome back to Donna Baylis, Pam Reid and Lisa Soules.

The league urgently needs two more curlers to make up eight full teams.  If interested, contact league rep Ed Meulyndyk at 519-938-1659.

Daytime

Team (Win-loss-tie)

Loranger 4-1

Coulter 3-2

Bell  3-3

Steed  3-3

McDougall  2-4

Lambert 2-4

From the Hack: The start of the second round robin was a big challenge for Team Loranger. Unfortunately Mike missed his last two shots which gave Team Lambert a well-played victory! Ron recovered well, after a short holiday, to lead Team Coulter to two consecutive wins. Barb, Linda, Bruce and Marilyn, from Team Steed, are making excellent draw and takeout shots and will be the team to watch in the coming weeks. Lots of baking brought in this week – it pays to play in the daytime league! Good curling everyone!
