Team win-loss-tie

Mike Stevens 3-1

Brian Wilson 3-1

Wayne Beattie 2-2

Wes Sauder 2-2

Brian Cass 2-2

Bill Hewitt 2-1-1

Russ Flack 1-3

Al Lambert 0-3-1

From The Hack: The final round of play finds the Mike Stephens and Brian Wilson teams tied for first place and only three games remain to be played. Three other teams tied for second place can’t afford another loss while the remainder can start planning on next year, short of a miracle. All in all another closely fought round of curling with the spoils of the competition still up for grabs. Front runners beware there are spoilers lurking behind.

Ladies

Team win-loss-tie

Brown 2-2-0

Kelly 3-1-0

Huskinson 1-3-0

McKay 2-2-0

From the Hack: Two important games this week gearing up for the trophy match. Team McKay’s front end threw awesome shots to set up their rookie skip for a high scoring win. Sheet 2 was a gruelling game for first place. Team Kelly succeeded. It will be a rematch of Kelly vs Brown next week for bragging rights.

Did you know: Curling made its Olympic debut as a demonstration event in 1924. It would be a demonstration event three more times and 74 years before it became an official Olympic medal sport in Nagano, 1998.

Daytime

Team win-loss-tie

Loranger 6-0-0

McDougall 2-2-2

Lambert 1-4-1

Steed 2-4-1

Martens 3-4-0

From the Hack: This week Debbie and Doug – who share the Lead position – Jake, Anne and Micheal, of Team Loranger, were able to keep their unblemished record intact, winning both matches easily. Considering there remains only one game to play, it’s safe to say that they have clinched top spot! Everyone left the ice early on Wednesday to watch Team Canada beat Team China! Hopefully Chelsea and the ladies, can draw some inspiration from Team Loranger! Thanks to Mary and Marilyn for the baked goods this week! Good curling everyone!
