Good Food Box program delivers to Creemore

 In Community

The Georgian Good Food Box (GGFB) is thrilled to partner with the Creemore branch of the Clearview Public Library to offer order and pick up services for Good Food Boxes each month. This now ensures local residents have convenient access to affordable and fresh produce monthly.

Diane Kelly was instrumental in connecting the library and GGFB programs. The board of directors of the Georgian Good Food Box welcome the partnership with the Creemore branch, which now completes access to the Good Food Box program at all three Clearview Branches.

The Georgian Good Food Box program is a local, volunteer run non-profit buying club. Each month a team of dedicated volunteers pack over 400 boxes of fresh, healthy and affordable produce. Since beginning in 2004, the program has packed over 60,000 boxes of produce!

Orders are due the first Wednesday of each month and can be placed at locations throughout Clearview, Collingwood and Wasaga Beach, as well as online at ggfb.ca. Our next order deadline is June 6.

Orders are ready for pick up on the third Wednesday of each month, with many pick up locations to choose from.

The cost is $15 and includes a variety of fresh and nutritious items. In every box each month are the staples: apples, onions, carrots and potatoes.  In addition to the staples, there are 4-6 seasonal items each month. These vary by season, freshness and availability but could include peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce, oranges, squash, cabbage, or broccoli among others.

The Georgian Good Food Box program is open to everyone in the community. There is no commitment to order and people are welcome to order as often as they like.

If you are looking for an affordable, healthy way to increase your consumption of fruits and vegetables give the Georgian Good Food Box a try.
