It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dorothy on Thursday, August 9, 2018 in her 77th year. She went peacefully with family by her side at the Stayner Care Centre. Dorothy of Stayner, beloved sister of Lois (Fred Garland) and Fred (Cindy). Special Aunt to Patty (Todd Marrow), Susan (the late Mark Elliott 2010), David and Michelle Garland, Anita (Steve Morrison), Janice and Crystal Lawson. Great Aunt to Bronte, Jade and Gillian Marrow, Payton, Kenzie, Brady and Cameron Elliott, Elizabeth, Ethan and Owen Garland. Dorothy was predeceased by her parents Edward (1978) and Edna (1974). Dorothy enjoyed many years of work at the Stayner Dairy and later at the Alliston Dairy. During her final working years she made and served food at Stayner Collegiate Institute where she enjoyed meeting the boys and girls. The Stayner Care Centre has been her home for the past four years while battling Parkinson’s disease. Her family is so grateful for the dedicated, diligent and compassionate care that she received during her stay there. Friends were received at the Carruthers & Davidson Funeral Home – Stayner Chapel on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 where a Funeral Service was held Wednesday, August 15, 2018. Interment Stayner Union Cemetery. Reception followed at Centennial United Church.
