MacLaren Art Centre to present VanGo

 In Events

This year, The Clearview Public Library is doing something different for our big March Break activity.

Instead of hosting our usual free family enter-educational event at this time, we will be joining forces with the MacLaren Art Centre to present their VanGo Programme for two sessions in Stayner and Creemore.

This very special art interaction will bring Sarah Hawley (an upcoming regional artist) who through the creative manipulation of colour, line, texture, shape and pattern will help your junior artist create his/her very own artist’s book.

Space is limited as only up to 15 attendees per session will design and produce a unique accordion-fold book with cover art that explores text as image using the medium of watercolour painting. (All materials plus a light snack will be supplied for artistic inspiration.)

Registration is required and you will receive a golden ticket ($5 per individual).

The first session will take place between 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. at the Clearview Township Council Chambers and the second session will take place in the Teen Room of the Creemore Branch between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. on Wednesday, March 13.

This programme is suitable for family crafting although this workshop is geared for older primary/junior intermediate school aged children.

For more information about the VanGo Programmes and the MacLaren Art Centre located in Barrie, please visit www.maclarenart.com.

There will be plenty to do throughout the week – both formally and informally – at all three branches in Creemore, New Lowell and Stayner. Details can be found in our March Break flier and at www.clearview.on.ca.
