Storm traps drivers in Stayner

About 50 motorists stranded by Friday’s stormy weather (Jan. 5) took refuge at the arena in Stayner.

Clearview Fire Department opened the arena for traveller boxed in by closed roads. Highway 26, Airport Road, and County Road 91 were all closed due to stormy weather and reduced visibility.

Police were asking people to stay off the roads as numerous collisions were reported on secondary roads due to the closure of the main roadways.
