A speedy recovery was wished to Wilma’s husband Roger Zeggil, home after a stay in Sunnybrook after a severe fall.

A thank you card was received from NCPS for our donation to their breakfast program.

Jim Rigney had donated chocolates for our Christmas dinner but due to the cancellation we enjoyed them today, thanks Jim.

Thirty-two members were out for cards and 50/50 draws were won by Isabele Gubbels, Irma Flack, June Hartley, Phyllis Seed and Barb Pilon.

Five Moon Shots were played by Joan O’Laskey, Morris Tymchuk, Karl Seifert, Roy Veinot, with the travel prize to John VanVoorst.

Winners for cards Eileen Nash, 316; Mary Bouchard, 302; Ruth Lougheed, 289; Marcia Cameron, 279; and low went to Roy Veinot, 140. There was no one in the lucky chair.

Years ago Elvis was giving a concert and there was a little blind girl in the audience that liked his music very much. When he heard this he asked that she be brought up on stage. She was so excited and when he knelt, she asked if she could feel his face, as her mother had told her Elvis is very handsome, to which he replied, no do not touch my face feel your face for it is the most beautiful face I have ever seen. When the concert was complete he instructed his people to make sure the family had whatever they needed and a cheque for $10,000 was issued. For the rest of the blind girl’s life she was taken care of by his people.

Remember: Common sense does not grow in everyone’s garden.
