Village Green design gets council nod

 In News

Creemore’s Village Green project passed another milestone this week as Clearview Township Council approved the latest design, excluding the spray pad component.
Terry Vachon, General Manager of Parks, Culture and Recreation for the township indicated there is no known issue with the spray pad design, but that drawings were not submitted in time for inclusion in his report to the June 22 meeting of council.
Ward 5 Councillor Thom Paterson, who has been closely following development of the project from the beginning, says the latest design with the stage backing on the Foodland parking lot, the fountain repositioned near the Bank Café and pathways realigned is a good reflection of considerable public input. Paterson expressed gratitude to the citizens who continue to invest time, energy and money to make this project happen. Construction hoarding is up around the site, and Paterson says it’s time now to move on and “Make it Green, not Brown!”
Completion of the new Village Green was targeted for late this year but Clearview Chief Administrative Officer Steve Sage says the timetable may be impacted by COVID-19. Once construction is completed and final inspections are done the space will be turned over to the municipality. The Creemore Community Foundation will be responsible for ongoing operations and programming of the site.
