Altercation involving knife leads to arrest
Creemore businessman Tim Martin was shocked to have a knife shoved in his face Tuesday evening after telling a driver to slow down as a vehicle sped down Mill Street, coming uncomfortably close to him and his colleague.
Martin was in front of his business, Creemore Auto Detailing just after 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday with an employee fetching winter tires out of his truck before swapping them out for a waiting client. At that moment a big red truck went by heading south on Mill Street at a high rate of speed.
“He came flying around the corner, just given’ er’,” Martin said when he spoke to The Echo on Wednesday, still shaken from the altercation the night prior.
Martin said he put his hands up, and yelled at him to slow down.
He said in an instant, the driver stopped the vehicle and came at him, unsheathing a hunting knife with a long blade, and holding it to his face.
“This is happening in front of my place of business. This is uncalled for,” said Martin. “I was really scared.”
Martin said he went to call the police and the driver took off in his truck.
The police arrived very quickly and statements were given to the police. Martin said it took until 10 p.m. to locate the driver.
Police say Spencer Stickle has been charged with Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose.
