Police news: Fence thieves caught in the act
Dufferin OPP has charged two people caught stealing a cedar rail fence from a rural property in Mono.
On Nov. 18, at approximately 9 a.m., Dufferin OPP officers were dispatched to a rural farm property on 30th Sideroad for a reported break and enter. Upon arrival, officers found a dismantled cedar rail fence, with approximately 400 cedar rails piled up, along with a missing weed trimmer. It appeared that the suspects had stacked the cedar rails, likely intending to return later.
On Nov. 21, at approximately 9:30 p.m., Dufferin OPP responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle at the same property. Upon arrival, officers found that the gate had been opened and the lock was missing. As they entered the property, they observed a vehicle exiting and stopped it for investigation. The two suspects were determined to be responsible for both the initial break and enter and the theft.
Matthew Tsiminos, 39, of Shelburne, and Tonya Rego, 47, of Melancthon Township, have been charged with trespassing at night, theft over $5,000, mischief under $ 5,000, trafficking in property obtained by crime, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000. Tsiminos was also charged with failing to comply with a probation order.

Dufferin OPP investigates stolen pick-up truck
Dufferin OPP responded to a report of a stolen vehicle from a rural property in the Township of Mulmur. The victim reported that the theft occurred sometime between Nov. 18 and 22. The stolen vehicle is a white 2022 Ram 1500 truck, with the license plate CV36302.

Police ask for public’s assistance regarding serious collision
Huronia West OPP is investigating a serious two-vehicle collision in Clearview Township.
On Nov. 26, at approximately 10:30 a.m., with assistance from Clearview Fire and Simcoe County Emergency Medical Services, police responded to a report of a serious collision involving two vehicles at County Road 91, just east of Brown Boulevard.
As a result of the collision, one individual was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries and later transported by ORNGE Air to a trauma centre in Toronto.
A section of County Road 91 was closed for several hours while police trained in collision reconstruction measured and documented the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
