Gathering of the Classics takes to the sky

Join the team from Clearview Public Library on Saturday, August 9 (rain date is Sunday) as it participates by supporting the children’s programming at the annual Gathering of the Classics at Edenvale Aerodrome from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This event features classic autos, motorcycles, airplanes, ultralights, helicopters, static displays, plenty of food and more for the whole family. This is a fundraiser for the Edenvale Classic Aircraft Foundation (ECAF) and it is the largest classic wings and wheels event in Canada (www. classicaircraft.ca).

This non-profit museum houses two working airplanes from the Second World War and highlights the contributions of the British Commonwealth Air Training Program (BCATP) that trained over 130,000 aircrew for the Allied Forces.

Next door at the Canadian Air and Space Conservancy (CASCM), the Avro Arrow 203 replica will be on public display (www.avroarrow203. com).
