Geoff Davies appointed hospital board chair
Geoff Davies has been appointed chair of the board for Collingwood General and Marine Hospital (CGMH).
“This is a defining moment for CGMH,” said Davies in a press release. “With strong progress toward our future hospital, we are focused on elevating quality, developing our team, and creating the capacity our community needs – today and for generations to come.”
Davies, a professional engineer, brings a wealth of leadership experience from a 30-year career as a senior consulting engineering executive, specializing in large- scale power utility projects, client relations, and fostering organizational cultures rooted in quality and safety. A long-time resident of the region, he concluded his career overseeing the expansion and redevelopment of Creemore Springs Brewery before serving as head of supply chain for Molson’s craft beer division. His dedication to community service is equally strong, with past board roles varying from the Canadian Nuclear Association to Ray’s Place.
Davies has been a key leader on the CGMH Board since 2019, contributing across multiple committees, including leading the hospital development committee as chair, where his leadership helped secure Ministry of Health approval of CGMH’s early planning submission for a new hospital serving South Georgian Bay.
“Geoff combines a deep passion for this hospital with proven experience leading change. His leadership comes at exactly the right time, as we strengthen the care we provide today and take bold steps toward making our new hospital a reality,” said CGMH president and CEO Michael Lacroix.
