Creemore apple pie contest 2025
Do you have a well guarded family recipe for apple pie? Dust it off and get ready for the annual Creemore Apple Pie Contest during the Thanksgiving weekend activities in Creemore.
The contest, presented by The Creemore Echo, will be part of the Harvest Fest at Creemore Village Green on Oct. 11, in partnership with the Creemore Farmers’ Market.
Apple pies must be submitted to the Creemore Apple Pie Contest booth between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. Judging will commence at 10 a.m. sharp.
Select judges will appraise the entries based on flavour, appearance, crust and texture.
Ribbons will be awarded for first, second and third place and those in attendance will have a chance to sample the entries when the pies are sliced up after the judging and handed out in exchange for donations to St. Luke’s Community Food Bank.
The community is invited to gather round for the nail-biting announcement of the winners at 10:30 a.m.
The contest will wrap up in time to catch the Toronto and North York Hunt’s ride to hounds at 11 a.m. The parade finishes at the Gordon Feed & Seed lot in the centre of town, directly across from Foodland. Spectators are invited to come by the lot after the parade to admire the horses, pet the hounds and meet the riders.
Harvest Fest activities will also include live music, activities, tarot card readings, stilt performers, and wagon rides.
