Remembrance Day poem

 In Letters, Opinion

by Evangeline Leal

On November 11th we shed our tears

And talk about it with our peers

Videos to watch, books to read

Poppies to pin and plant their seeds

People fallen, people died

It just makes me want to cry

We lay flowers at their graves

To remember all the lives they saved.

We have a moment of silence

To mourn the ones we lost

In Flanders Fields we see the cross

It’s so old it’s covered in dead moss.

It may be old, but we have not forgot

How many fights our ancestors fought

On this day we remember always

Lest we forget is what we say
