2 Dirty Aprons open market pop-up

 In Uncategorised

Mother-daughter duo Laurie and Tessa Foote have set up a pop-up shop in Creemore to complement their lifestyle brand, 2 Dirty Aprons.
The 2da Market is a showcase of their favourite things that they use in their home whether they are cooking together, dining together or caring for their animals on Windswept Farm.
The collaboration began in 2019 when the pair went into the forest to dig wild leeks and they were having so much fun that they decided to make a video – and a brand was born.
They love to cook together and making videos of their shenanigans in the kitchen helped to relieve some of the boredom that came with the pandemic.
“As Covid progressed we realized this is actually working,” said Laurie.
They say although they didn’t know much about being retailers, they had lots of ideas and started sourcing all kinds of great products, which were accumulating at their home before they even had a solid plan for a store.
They are renovating the barn at their farm for a potential locale but the work was delayed by the pandemic so they took the opportunity to open in a small space on Mill Street for the summer.
Tessa is heading off to McGill University in the fall and is learning lots from the new business venture.
With the theme of home and cooking in mind, the Footes have sourced cookware and tabletop accessories including antique stemware, recycled cast iron pots, and candles.
About ninety-five per cent of the vendors are Canadian with a focus on locally made and items brought in from Quebec, where Laurie if from.
The market sells pottery, jewellery, fine art, a line of linen and cashmere clothing, handmade tote bags, food products. They have even designed their own pyjamas and robes, procured through a company in India.
The plan is to have various vendors appear in store to talk about their product. First up is vintage glass dealer Sean George at 11 a.m. on July 17.
The shop also features an outdoor farm stand stocked on weekends by Creemore Farmers’ Market vendors True Food Farms.
For updates on summer hours and product info, find 2da Market and 2 Dirty Aprons on Instagram. 2da Market is located at 195 Mill St., and is open Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and by appointment (message on Instagram or call 416-994-9293).
