Clearview adopts new parks & rec master plan

Clearview Township has updated its Parks, Culture and Recreation 10-year Master Plan, following several rounds of public consultation. 

The 102-page report was approved and adopted by council on Jan. 21.

“This Parks, Culture and Recreation Master Plan builds on the previous 2007 plan, provides updates and new directions. It builds on the successes and emergent themes in the various recent strategic plans currently in use, most notably, council’s Strategic Plan,” said Clearview’s General Manager of Parks, Culture and Recreation, Terry Vachon. “This document will guide the parks, culture and recreation department’s delivery of programs and services over the next 10 years. It considers the expected impacts due to growth. It aims to increase participation and variety in programming while increasing operational effectiveness. It confirms the township’s need to ensure that partnerships with service providers remains strong over the life of the plan.”

Key components: Focus on programming needs across all segments of the community; Create a healthy community by considering adaptive use of facilities; Increase facility utilization; Support and enhance community partnerships with program, service, and facility providers; Develop policies to standardize municipal processes including facility allocation, rates and fees, R-zone, and subsidy; Develop standardized operating and service levels for outdoor facilities; and Improve communications and marketing strategies for all programs and facilities.
