New Stayner library opening April 7

 In Events

Please take note that the doors of the Stayner Branch of the Clearview Public Library at 201 Huron Street (Stayner) will not be opening to the public on Tuesday, March 24. At this time, we will be starting the big move to the new location in the Stayner Community Arena Hub at 269 Regina Street.
The final check-out at the circulation desk at the Huron Street location will be 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 21. Please join us throughout the day (10 a.m. to 4 p.m.) for a cup of coffee or tea as we say “goodbye” to this building. We will be collecting memories, photographs and stories of this library branch for our memory book at this time, too.
If you have checked out books from the Stayner branch as of Tuesday, March 10, please note that your new due date is Tuesday, April 7 – the first day of business in our new library branch. We will be opening up at 10 a.m. and we invite you to join us to discover this new space and to enjoy some light refreshments. (Our big, official grand opening will take place later in the year.) The drop box at the old branch will still be in operation during this time.
All of the existing Stayner branch programs will continue, but at the Stayner Arena Community Hall. These include the ASK (Afternoon School Klub), Clearview Girls Who Code, Teen Crew, Morning Coffee Break, Adult Book Club and Coffee and craft programs.
If you are ordering a Good Food Box for April, please drop your order envelope into the drop box. We will be giving out blank orders with March’s delivery of your fruits and vegetables, or contact 705-428-5537 or gfoodbox@gmail.com for more information.
It will be business as usual at the Creemore and Sunnidale branches. If you have any questions about the move or any other library matter, please call the circulation desks at these locations.
Library staff will also be at on hand at the 12th annual Clearview Health & Leisure Expo at the Stayner Community Hub on Saturday, March 28 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. We will be one of the 30 booths featuring recreational programs, community sports and local health providers. Admission is free. Visit our booth to voice your opinion about new programs in the library and to have your passport signed for some amazing door prizes.
Hours of operation at the new Stayner branch will be Tuesday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Closed Sunday and Monday. For more information, visit www.clearview.library.on.ca or call 705-428-3595.

Michele McKenzie is deputy CEO of Clearview Public Library.
