Rx Drug Mart IDA assistant manager Sue-Ellen Wadge (from left) and front store manager Elinor Sheffer present $166.20 to Clearview Youth Centre Coordinator Courtney Rogers on Monday.

The Stayner pharmacy regularly holds campaigns to raise funds and awareness about various initiatives, both local and national. During the month of August customers donated by way of three draws for store products to a Clearview Youth Centre leadership program that facilitates volunteerism, both at the youth centre and in the wider community.

During the month of September staff are raising funds for The Orange Shirt Society, a non-profit organization based in Williams Lake, BC where Orange Shirt Day began in 2013, the legacy of the St. Joseph Mission Residential School (1891-1981) Commemoration Project and Reunion. The society aims to support Indian Residential School Reconciliation; create awareness of the individual, family and community inter-generational impacts of Indian Residential Schools through Orange Shirt Society activities; and create awareness of the concept of “Every Child Matters.”
