Garden brings health and happiness

People don’t need me to tell them that inflation is a current problem and that buying food for the family takes a shocking amount of money. Here is a suggestion which will help a little bit anyway. Start planning to have a little garden for vegetables. Four feet by six feet would be a good start. It doesn’t have to take a lot of money (or any money). After you get it established you might need a half hour a week to look after it. And don’t think you need to keep it well weeded, just keep them from totally smothering the vegetables.

Beans, lettuce and peas are easy to grow. And you can buy a tomato plant or two and maybe go all out and buy a sweet pepper plant.

I have had a vegetable garden since I was a teenager and I can tell you that a garden will bring you much happiness and good eating.

Helen Blackburn,

Creemore.
