NDACT continues to work toward Strada agreement

 In Letters, Opinion

Editor:

Over the last several weeks, NDACT has been working diligently with Strada towards developing a Community Agreement.

I can report that we have an Agreement in Principle in place (the foundation piece to the Community Agreement) which can be signed by all parties when the three key schedules to the Agreement in Principle are finalized.

The status of the schedules are as follows: The Water and Natural Features Protocol has been received by Strada, and we await final feedback; the same can be said for the Communications Protocol. We have finalized the Community Recreation Fund Protocol to be reviewed by the NDACT Board before we send it on to Strada.

In all our discussions, Strada has generally responded favourably to our approach. We will continue to work together on reaching a consensus on the Schedules over the next couple of weeks. Once we have signatures on the Agreement in Principle, we will publish it on our website for your review. At that time, we plan on hosting an open house with Strada to answer questions on the agreement (format and timing of the open house to be finalized).

Our hope is that we will continue to work with Kevin Powers from Campbell Strategies and the Strada Management Team to finalize all this before haying season!

Carl Cosack,

Community Liaison, NDACT
